After some consultation with a few people I've come to a kind of shitty conclusion but I hope you'll all understand.

After I release page 8 of Chapter 6 I am going to be pausing the main comic for the foreseeable future. I refuse to use the term hiatus- as any webcomic that uses that almost never comes back. Even though I've scaled back so much, and even though they're only in black and white now, I wanna stress that each page still takes me multiple hours to do.

Now this was fine when I announced it because, you know, there wasn't a giant pandemic going on. And I know I previously made a big blog about how 'MHFAP! will continue on during the crisis!' but I will fully admit to not expecting the scale of it to be this big. A lot of people were underestimating it.

So far my financials have not suffered because of corona, and I know a LOT of you are working hard to support me during all this. And I really, really, really, really thank you for everything you do for me.

But the fact of the matter is right now my commissions queue is huge. I made a switch to a proper queue a month or two ago, and it started off going great. But... it only worked because I didn't think I'd be under pressure to do as many comms as physically possible. You can see just how swollen it is right now.

During this pause I will be focusing on working on commissions primarily, and continuing the expansion of MHFAP!'s content via the Fapcast. Before anyone says anything, if you're wondering how much time a Fapcast episode takes me to make, almost none. I only write the script. Urban mixes the audio, and I barely have anything to do with it besides writing, listening to the audio and giving the VA instructions. So expanding this type of minimal effort content is very wise right now.

I will also be working on more study sketches to improve my work, as well as just in general trying to make a bigger name for myself. MHFAP! has some pretty big underlying structural flaws too, which need to be adressed. Namely I've been without a dedicated colorist ever since Popps has disappeared and I do not have the money or the time to look. Hopefully by working hard and putting out a lot more content I can forcibly make myself into a better position where I can find someone for this, but it's not a huge priority yet.

As for how long this pause lasts, it's dependent on things.

1. Patreon amount. I'm not gonna beg you guys or anything but putting it bluntly if I see an increase to the point where it becomes comparable to a meager wage, I'll be more inclined to work on the comic. We are currently at like $320 a month. That's hobby numbers. I will make it a much bigger priority if we are at like $800 and it was funded more like a part time job. I want to stress I am NOT asking you to donate, my comic is not worth you being without food or clothes or whatever. I'm simply listing what would impact my decision.

2. Any future stimulus things. I was previously optimistic that we might get more stimulus checks or lee-way on rent but I'm more on the fence about if it'll happen or not. But if we do get a long term stimulus fix then I'll be in a better position.

Adding more comms to my queue to support me will not make the comic come back faster. I need to accept new comms though for MHFAP! OCs and art of existing OCs solely so I can keep living and stuff, so. That's a main reason I explained why Patreon was the biggest thing.

My comic is my life. My characters are my joy. I don't want to *not* draw them so I hope you can understand why a pause hurts me more than it hurts you.
